Travel notes

Since opening its doors close to 25 years ago, McGill's annual Summer Dental Clinic has treated almost 20,000 patients.

For many of the clinic's patients, this service, provided free of charge, is the only dental treatment they receive each year.

Several years ago, students also began visiting residential institutions to give instruction in basic oral hygiene to care providers.

Summer Courses

In the midst of all the other activity, classes do still go on. Most Summer Studies courses are led by visiting professors or PhD students, who get to teach their particular specialties. Classes tend to be small and relaxed.

Under the watchful eye of clinical instructors, senior students from the Faculty of Dentistry treat physically and mentally challenged patients at the University's Summer Dental Clinic. Although the emphasis is on prevention, the clinic provides patients with a full range of services, from scaling and fluoride treatment to extractions and emergency care.

Outdoor Dining

Hot dog vendor Sébastien L'Archer has been catering al fresco on campus for three summers. To entertain customers, he provides music, has learned to juggle, and even keeps a chess game set up for those who want to play.
