Mechanical Requirements

Ads can be supplied on final negative films with standard central cross marks on 4 sides of the page along with a colour proof (matchprint or colourkey) made from the films supplied.

If the ad is built in Quark Xpress it can also be supplied on a cd. This should include appropriate trapping, fonts, photos, logos (eps/tiffs, etc.) and all colour edited in CMYK. In this case the ad can be placed directly into the McGill News document without any film required. A pdf can be sent for proofing.

If an ad is created and saved for MacIntosh, then scans will be output by McGill News' printer and charged to the client. In this case the ad can be built in Quark Xpress, Illustrator or FreeHand.

Copy Requirements

Rates are based on camera-ready material provided by the client. Additional charges will be made for all layout and composition work.

Process: Heat-set Web Offset.
Halftone screen: B/W 120, 4 colour 133.

For colour: Colour-corrected screened negatives emulsion down right reading plus proofs with colour bars.
